My favorite medium is clay, because that’s what I started in. It is very immediate. It’s easy to do, and easy to get satisfaction from. My favorite tool is a small hand tool I made from a lemonwood branch. I’d like to get into bronze. I have done something in wax, but I like clay best. I’m into figurative art, from working in class with Story Kornbluth in Adult Education. I more or less slid into sculpture after a number of years drawing figures. I also do pastel and oil portrait work, and I have worked with animal subjects. I enjoy the three-dimensional work because it is very challenging. I have shown my work frequently with the Santa Barbara Sculptor’s Guild.
